GamePro gives us a very fine 4.5/5 review that has taken our Metacritic score up to 81. For now, anyway!

I’ve been refreshing my game’s leaderboards all day, which serves double duty as our real-time sales tracking tool. We’ll reach 20,000 players shortly, which is very strong, and there’s hours to go yet for our day-one sales total. I’m hoping we hit 35k on day one . . .

I about had a heart attack when I saw a review of my game pop up on Metacritic that gave us a 40. Then we noticed the actual review gave us 4 out of 5 stars; Metacritic just screwed up the data entry. Microsoft wetworks team has been dispatched.

“Full of style, wit and excitement it isn’t just the best console poker game, but the best virtual poker game ever.”

IT’S A SCIENCE FACT!

Full House Poker Xbox 360 | Reviews | ZTGD

Ever since the launch of the 360, there has really only been one 'go to' option for gamers who wanted to get their virtual poker fix: Texas Hold 'Em.

THQ doesn’t have a lot going on right now but even so, seeing their stock price tank because of Metacritic is really painful.

I got to my office, drank some coffee, and promptly began speaking to a plush raccoon named Watson. He spoke back. I need more coffee.

Finally, a review of my new game written by someone who can actually write and who demonstrably played Texas Heat! It’s a great write-up and my only quibble is that it reads better than the 7.5/10 that he gave us.

Full House Poker Review for Xbox 360 – GameSpot

Great online options and an innovative experience system make this poker game difficult to put down.

I’m not posting links to every review of Full House Poker because there are more than thirty of them up now and more to come. Metacritic only has a few so far, but our producer examined all 30+ write-ups and found that our average review score is 80.8/100. I will take that to the bank.

Some nice creature designs. But it’s an MMO, which means even the fifteen-foot-tall ogres with enormous chain guns just stand there, six feet from a tiny human with a pistol, and the two of them trade fire endlessly without bothering to move around. Keep chipping away at that healthbar! Yawn.

17/20. And yeah, he was totally right-on in his major criticism: this is a poker game, not a trivia game. Crap, how did we let that one get by?

Full House Poker » Critical Hit! – Video Game Reviews

Full House Poker is a spiritual successor to popular XBLA game 1 Vs. 100. Microsoft Game Studios had said they were going to apply what they learned from 1 Vs. 100, and you can clearly see the influence of that game on this one. Unfortunately, this may end up being a double-edged sword, in that it w
