Pac-Man Championship Edition DX is on sale this week for $5 instead of $10. If you’re on Xbox, you really should get this game. It came out a couple of months ago and blew me away with its creativity. I get inspired when I see people innovating brilliantly within a very tight set of constraints such as Pac-Man.

You can buy it for five bucks from this link and it’ll download to your Xbox next time you turn it on.

Raph Koster’s presentation from GDC yesterday on 40 game mechanics suitable for social games. It’s a great deck, bursting with interesting ideas and insights.

PopCap’s new Bejeweled Blitz game launches on Xbox LIVE Arcade today, developed by my friends at Torpex Games. This trailer is surprisingly funny and definitely worth a quick watch. I’m glad they can have a sense of humor about Bejeweled.

is thinking this morning that if Sony hadn’t so badly bungled the PS3 launch (in terms of retail price), even Xbox might be selling more today. They had such a huge audience with the PS2 who didn’t jump to either PS3 or Xbox. We lost them to the Wii, DS, and the web. Sony really screwed the pooch for us all.

I stayed up too late last night checking out some of the Indie Games titles on Xbox. My favorite of the ones I tried was radiangames JoyJoy, a thrilling and beautiful evolution of the twin-stick shooter. It’s innovating within a narrow slice of game design but doing so brilliantly. Crazy fun and very creative. Also, only one dollar. Please buy it at the link above and it’ll download to your Xbox.

My next game, Full House Poker, passed final certification today and will be released on Xbox LIVE Arcade on March 16 for ten bucks. It’s a truly great poker game and it includes Texas Heat, a massively multiplayer poker game show that is my spiritual successor to Xbox LIVE’s 1 vs. 100.

I’m really proud of the game and of my teammates. Three weeks to go!
