Bunratty Castle had a variety of owners over the centuries. In the twentieth century it was purchased by Lord and Lady something or other. The place was in terrible shape, so they fixed it up and retired there. When they died, they gave it to the government to open to the public. This library chamber was part of the refurbishing and remodeling they did. You couldn't go inside, unfortunately, but the ceiling was still amazing to see.
