Joystiq writer Karen Bryan picks an MMO to play based on user votes, then does a poll in each column about what major choice she should make next in her gameplay. She’s currently playing my game Pirates of the Burning Sea and having fun with it. In this installment she spends a paragraph just riffing on the Auctioneer’s dialogue, which I wrote and voice-acted. I’m glad to see my silliness found a fan.

The FTC has found, once again, that videogame ratings and retailers do a better job of keeping games for grown-ups out of the hands of kids than movies, DVDs, and CDs, and by a wide margin.

Undercover Operation Catches Video Game Retailers Enforcing Ratings

As the Supreme Court considers whether or not selling violent video games to children should be a crime in California, the Federal Trade Commission releases a report showing that game retailers are doing just fine enforcing game ratings without fines and jail time hanging over their heads.
